Phenyx ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Phenyx mobile application and related services.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and username. When you use Phenyx, we collect information about the books you add, reading progress, notes and reflections you write, and interactions with AI-powered features such as Socratic questioning. We also collect usage data including session frequency, feature usage patterns, and device information to improve the app experience.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and personalize the Phenyx experience, including generating your knowledge graph, delivering AI-powered reading insights, enabling social features like Circle and book clubs, tracking your reading journey and streaks, and processing your subscription. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

AI-Powered Features

Phenyx uses artificial intelligence to generate Socratic questions, identify connections between ideas across your library, and support spaced repetition. Your reading notes and reflections are processed to provide these features. We do not use your personal reading data to train general AI models.

Social Features

When you use Circle, your posts, comments, and shared connections are visible to your friends and book club members depending on your sharing settings. Your profile information including username, streaks, and badges may be visible to other users. You can control your visibility through your account settings.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase for data storage and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

Subscriptions and Payments

Subscription payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can export your reading data at any time through the app. You can delete your account through your profile settings or by contacting us. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@phenyxapp.com.

Children's Privacy

Phenyx is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
